Congratulations to Pricegore and artist Yinka Ilori, who have seen off a strong shortlist, to win the London Festival of Architecture’s competition for a second landmark pavilion outside of the Dulwich Picture Gallery. We provided structural advice for the bid and cannot wait to assist with making their delightful design a reality in 2019!
The design by Pricegore and Yinka Ilori is playfully nicknamed the Colour Palace and features a bold geometric pattern created from multicoloured timber louvres which will contrast against the gallery building. The bright colours were inspired by the designers links with Nigeria and the textile markets of Lagos. A lightweight re-usable frame which is simple to assemble and disassemble will be adopted which it is hoped will encourage re-use of the pavilion in a different location once it’s residency in Dulwich is over.
