Southwark Park Primary School has featured in the 26.01.17 issue of the Architects Journal.
The project with AOC involved the re-arrangement and simplification of a grade II listed London board School. Originally constructed in the 1870’s and subject to frequent alterations including a partially completing scheme that was terminated after completion of the piling and demolition.
Simon Robinson was quoted in the article acknowledging ‘The challenge for the new team was to re-use the previous structural works with new layouts and extensions to fit the constraints of the brief and budget’.
The Architects Journal online has also featured the recently completed Sixth form centre atop Streatham and Clapham High School. Working with Cottrell and Vermuelen Architects, engineersHRW is providing structural consultancy on the project which involves phased vertical and lateral extensions constructed in cross laminated timber (CLT) to a 1930’s in-situ reinforced concrete school building.
