More good news in May, as Secular Retreat picks up an RIBA South West Award. We assisted Atelier Zumthor with the project for Living Architecture.
This project was conceived as a place that a group of like-minded people could visit to relax and perhaps work together. The structure is built up of a series of rammed concrete walls that support the overhanging concrete roof. The design of the structure was very much an iterative process, in which the architect made physical models from which new forms and structural ideas were generated. The project now goes forward to the RIBA National Awards later this year and is booked out for all of 2019!
