As part of the annual summer day out, the staff of engineersHRW enjoyed a trip to the Serpentine Gallery in London’s Hyde Park and a visit to the V&A’s engineering season which features an exhibit of the Xstrata Treetop walkway as part of the 'Mind Over Matter' exhibition beside the architecture gallery, for which Jane Wernick Associates were the structural engineers.
Alongside visits to various exhibitions, teams have had the opportunity to take part in a selection of collective site visits for jobs currently on site, including Pinnacle House in Wimbledon (Matt Architecture) and Streatham and Clapham High School (Cottrell and Vermeulen). The summer site visits are always an eagerly anticipated occasion which allows for the sharing of ideas, construction methods, structural detailing and expertise amongst the office.
Our Oxford team have also had the opportunity to visit the Stewart Milne timber factory in Witney to see first-hand manufacturing techniques and finished products.
