This project at a children’s hospice was conceived by a team convinced that the environment makes a difference to children’s response to treatment and to their quality of life. The steel structures provide a 15m-diameter ferris wheel and a series of elevated pedestrian walkways: the Magic Carpet, an undulating path suspended between circular supports and shaded by a canopy; and the Roof-Top Walkway, three arch-supported bridges spanning over the buildings to reach an observation deck looking over the landscape.
