Extension and refurbishment of the existing premises featuring Grade I listed interiors and one of the first steel framed buildings constructed in the UK, the project involved adopting the adjacent building into the existing building commissioned by Cartier in 1905. Existing structures were first surveyed and load paths appraised prior to developing the architectural design around sacrificial structure. The former party wall was opened up, basement and ground floors re-constructed and extensive servicing was incorporated with the new and existing structure.
