The result of a competition, the maze is of granite and glass filled wire gabions up to 2.5m high. In conjunction with the architect, engineersHRW adjusted the geometry to provide stiffness for the plan layout, avoiding the need for strengthening wind posts. Bases of the gabions are tied down using small screw anchors through a compacted granular sub base, a cost effective alternative to strip footings.
