Resident led housing and regeneration scheme on the existing 1960’s Kipling Estate in Southwark.
The project for the local Leathermarket Community Benefits Society will, once completed provide 27 additional socially rented and affordable homes, with no demolition of existing housing stock.
The new housing is situated on the boundary of the existing estate in the location of former garages. The structure is comprised of an in-situ reinforced concrete frame with a lighter weight steel frame forming the sloping roof profiles. Red brick cladding with sawtooth and stack-bonded features has been adopted to engage with the surrounding context.
