The Krishna Avanti Primary School is the UK's first Hindu faith-based, voluntary aided state school. The School is a 1FE, mixed primary school with an attached nursery, incorporating a stone temple structure carved in India. This and the timber framed structure used for the remainder of the school is detailed to limit the use of ferrous metal and incorporate materials possessing low embodied energy in sympathy with the clients ambitions to create a sustainable, healthy environment for the children. The project achieved a BREEAM Excellent rating.
