The first phase of this new science, technology and art wing for Oundle School comprises the chemistry and biology laboratories and some break-out spaces. It
is constructed using exposed concrete for its high thermal mass, clad with stone. The building includes a modern interpretation of the Georgian ‘cantilever’ stone
stairs, so that the building itself can be used as an educational tool.
