This is a well known piece of brutalist architecture that is now Grade II listed. The work to the existing building included the sensitive restoration and refurbishment of the iconic structure, engineered originally by Ove Arup and Partners in 1969. Following detailed research engineersHRW were able to reinstate the original design principles which had been compromised by conspicuous alterations, clearing the spaces and revealing the originally intended exposed structure. The initial phase was completed in 2017 and the remaining works completed in June 2018.
