This project provides new accommodation and better access for the gallery. It includes the refurbishment and extension of a derelict house, No. 67 Peckham Road,to the East of the Camberwell College of Arts, a new disabled access route to the South London Gallery, and a new education space built in the courtyard behind the gallery. The house and its extension provide space for a café and a flexible double height gallery at the ground floor level, exhibition spaces at the first floor level, and accommodation for an artist in residence at the top floor, with a new external terrace. A new lift is installed in the house which provides access to all levels, and also provides a new accessible route from the street to the lower level of the existing South London Gallery avoiding the listed staircase.
