Who We Are
Established in 2001, engineersHRW provide structural and civil engineering consultancy services for a wide range of construction projects. With offices in London and Oxford, we work with and maintain long and lasting associations with a wide range of Architects, Consultants, Clients and Contractors.
In May 2015, Jane Wernick Associates joined engineersHRW bringing a wealth of experience and a catalogue of exciting projects.
We have proudly contributed to many projects winning awards including the prestigious IStructE Supreme Award for Engineering Excellence, RIBA and Civic Trust Awards and RIBA Stirling Prize nominations.
Approach
Every project offers the opportunity to refine and develop experience gained or to explore something new. Our enthusiasm to embrace the engineering opportunities offered is key to our success and continued growth:
- Clear definition of roles and responsibility amongst our team ensuring input at a senior level, high quality design and rigorous critique. We maintain strong and lasting associations with Architects, Consultants, Contractors and Clients through clear communication and mutual understanding of goals.
- Close working relationships with Architects in all sectors that has enabled us to develop a refined aesthetic appreciation. We are interested in architecture, building, M+E, costing and funding; all of the things that combined make a building. It is this interest and understanding that enables creative engineering that is elegant, good value and constructable.
- A nurturing of individuality, encouraging the team to develop interests and specialisms. These are utilised to inform specific projects where the knowledge is relevant and for in-house discussions / CPD.

Sustainability
As first-day signatories of UK Structural Engineers Declare Climate & Biodiversity Emergency, we have committed to raise awareness of the climate and biodiversity emergencies through our work and always propose low-carbon and environmentally sensitive design solutions.
We provided structural and civil engineering services for Chester Balmore, which was the largest Passivhaus project in the UK at the time of construction. Through our involvement with projects that have sustainable ambitions we have gained an extensive knowledge of various Codes and Standards including CfSH, Passivhaus and BREEAM.
This ethos extends beyond our work and is inherent in the management of our business. Our procurement and purchasing policy, for instance, ensures products and services are considered on an environmental as well as ethical and commercial basis.
