Brentwood School
Since 2007 engineersHRW have been working with Brentwood School and Cottrell and Vermuelen Architecture on a series of refurbishment and new-build projects for the school, improving their ageing teaching facilities and providing spaces that meet 21st Century demands.
The engineering has responded to the rich materiality and elegant detailing of the architecture, which itself has been developed in the context of the existing school campus and its setting, adopting the tapestry of different forms of masonry and brickwork. As well as detailing appropriate structural solutions for the varied uses such as a new library, new assembly hall, resource and learning centre, sixth form centre, classrooms and sports facilities.
