Yew Tree Lakes
A new build country house, constructed under the NPPF's then paragraph 79 allowing for exceptional one-off designs. The house is predominantly timber framed using 300mm deep timber I-joists for the floors, roofs and external walls, with some steel to assist with the larger spans. The joists cantilever in a number of locations to create the distinctive form. Where constructed into the hillside, Stepoc reinforced block retaining walls were adopted. This house has achieved an A++ energy rating.
