Hertfordshire House
Hertfordshire House consists of the revitalisation of an 18th century Grade II-listed country house and estate in the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
One of the extensions of the building incorporates a biomimetically inspired glulam roof. Inspired by Nervi’s Gatti Wool Factory floor structure, the glulam members of the roof follow lines of moment trajectory. The glulam roof members are structurally continuous, but thermally discontinuous, in their connection to the external columns.
The project also involved refurbishment of existing barn building and creation of new pool house.
Extensive landscape works included serpentine walls and extensive haha.
