Primary
This first phase of works for artist-led charity Primary, transformed a Grade II-listed Victorian school building in Radford, Nottingham providing artist’s studios and gallery spaces to support a varied programme of exhibitions, workshops and public events. The site also incorporates a bookshop, bakery, outdoor kitchen and productive garden to further support community functions.
An important part of the first phase of works was to improve entrances and accessibility across the site. engineersHRW developed sensitive and economical structural designs with Pricegore, for a series of light-touch interventions. These included a new entrance gateway, signage and canopy structures, and provision of level-access to the gardens and throughout lower floors of the buildings.
