Sacred Heart School, Camberwell
A new secondary modern school constructed by Balfour Beatty under the Building Schools for the Future scheme. The main classroom block structure is a flat slab RC frame, while the gym and sports hall are steel-framed. A 2m fall across the site, variable ground conditions and a 3m diameter storm sewer required careful coordination when locating foundations to mitigate against unnecessary costs or complications in the ground.
